The CRUCH Gender Equality Commission will hold the first national colloquium on social co-responsibility for care

The activity will take place on Wednesday, August 26, from 10:00 to 12:00, online.

The meeting will address the challenges of higher education in terms of care and the contribution of universities to the public debate.

The Gender Equality Commission The Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), through its Social Co-responsibility for Care Axis, will hold the first National Colloquium next Wednesday, August 26. “Social co-responsibility for care: the role of Higher Education Institutions in building the public debate”.

The activity seeks to create a space for reflection on the challenges that higher education faces in terms of care and the contribution that universities can make to the public discussion and to the development of institutional cultures that recognize care as a right.

The colloquium will feature the participation of Emilia Schneider, congresswoman and promoter of the “I Care, I Study” Law; María Isabel Díaz, former Undersecretary of Early Childhood Education and PhD in Education; Sandra López, Vice President of ANEF – Women and Gender; and Roxana Chiappa Baros, academic at the University of Tarapacá and specialist in gender studies, public policies and care.

The conversation will be moderated by the journalist María Francisca Maldonado and will address, among other issues, the implementation of the "I Care, I Study" Law, the discussion on the Universal Daycare project and the National Care System.

The activity will take place between 10:00 and 12:00, Online via Zoom. Participation is open, but registration is required.
