Fifty-three years after the 1973 coup, various universities of the Council held memorial events, tributes, and meetings aimed at promoting reflection on democracy and human rights.

With ceremonies, pilgrimages, talks and cultural activities, various universities of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) commemorated this September 11, 53 years after the 1973 coup d'état.

The initiatives developed by university communities focused on remembering and honoring the students, faculty, and staff who were victims of the dictatorship. Through various forums for discussion and reflection, the universities addressed the consequences of the democratic breakdown and human rights violations, highlighting the value of democracy, respect for human rights, and the commitment to non-repetition.
