The Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) reported that the application process for the second call for the “CRUCH Recognition for Contribution to Higher Education 2026” He is in his final days. The award, which is given biennially, seeks to distinguish and honor the legacy of Chilean men and women who, throughout a career of at least 15 years, have driven profound transformations in the country's higher education system.

This distinction has become a highly relevant institutional milestone, designed to highlight the contribution of those who have strengthened the higher education system with their vision and leadership.

Selection and application criteria

To award the recognition, the jury will evaluate the applicants' profiles based on four fundamental criteria:

  • Originality and innovation of their contributions.
  • Impact real in Chilean higher education.
  • Path of the applicant.
  • Leadership demonstrated in the system.

Applications can be submitted by an institution, an organization, a third party, or through the self-nomination mechanism, which opens the field to the entire academic and civil community.

Channels and formal requirements

Those wishing to nominate a candidate must formally submit all required documentation (Application Form, Sworn Statement, Curriculum Vitae and two letters of support) in digital format to the official email address: reconocimiento@consejoderectores.cl.

The admissibility and evaluation process will be managed by a Competition Committee, composed of the rectors of the University of Concepción, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, University of Santiago de Chile, University of La Serena, University of Atacama and Alberto Hurtado University.
