The Program considers as part of its mission to generate strong national and international leadership in this discipline through scientific production, integrative and quality research, as well as communication and intellectual development in various areas of Epidemiology with special focus on the countries. Applicant Profile

Applicants for the Doctoral Program in Epidemiology may come from different areas, professions and countries. With interest and preparation for research in epidemiology, population health and individual health in the human, animal and environmental fields and with a professional career that allows them to pursue doctoral level studies. They require a master's level training or medical specialty related to Epidemiology and Public health. Exceptionally, the Doctoral Committee will accept students without a master's degree, but who have proven experience in research or methodology.

Graduate profile

The graduate of the Doctorate Program in Epidemiology will be able to carry out original, autonomous research in an ethical manner and with methodological rigor relevant to Public Health and with the capacity to manage projects specifically in the field of Epidemiology and Public Health in general. . You will be able to effectively join and lead research teams, translate and communicate the findings to public policies. The graduate will understand the central concepts of the various areas of Epidemiology and Public Health, being able to specialize in a specific area linked to the research areas offered by the Program. You are expected to have transversal skills such as teaching skills, critical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
