goals

General Objective To train high-level human resources, capable of understanding, integrating, generating knowledge, identifying, solving problems and proposing approaches for the development of Veterinary Sciences and their application to academic, research and productive activities in Chile or from other countries.
Specific objectives.
-To train researchers in the areas of animal health, ecosystem health and animal science, capable of leading the search for new knowledge in a critical context and with rigorous training in the scientific method.
-To train advanced human resources that strengthen and promote the development and teaching in Veterinary Sciences and related disciplines
-To train trained human resources to join and / or interact in the productive or public sector, providing solutions to scientific and technological problems in aspects such as the productivity of the agri-food sector, biomedical problems, Public Health problems and the development of biotechnology.

Applicant Profile

To be admitted to the Program, it is required to possess the Title of Veterinary Doctor or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline.
The applicant needs to complete the application for admission, to which the following documents must be attached:
-Curriculum vitae duly supported with certificates and documents.
-Letter with Declaration of Interests and motivation for the application.
-Letter of support from a teacher of the program. To do this, you must contact the teachers of the program related to the area or subject that you want to develop and who can accommodate you in your work team.
-Hold the academic degree of Bachelor / a, awarded by Chilean or foreign higher education institutions, with a minimum duration of 8 semesters completed-Certificate of title and / or degrees.
-Concentration of official grades of their titles or degrees
-If you have studied abroad, you must include a certificate issued by the higher education institution, explaining the equivalences. When the university does NOT issue a certificate of equivalences, the applicant must present a certificate issued by the university that certifies this. The conversion of each of the marks obtained abroad on a scale of 1 to 7 is understood as equivalence.
-Credit academic excellence with at least one of the following requirements:
-Having obtained a final undergraduate average equal to or greater than 5.0, out of a maximum of seven (7.0) or its equivalent; or, be within the top 30% of the undergraduate ranking. For this, UNDERGRADUATE RANKING CERTIFICATE is requested where the place that the applicant occupied is explicitly stated with respect to the total number of graduates (the number of graduates must be stated). In case of NOT having such certification, a certificate from the university must be presented that demonstrates the non-existence of such indicator.- Letter of recommendation from three academics, who can give references of the applicant.- Must demonstrate knowledge of the English language or another language in addition to the Spanish.
-Medical certificate that accredits health compatible with Program activities.
-Applicants who have studied abroad must present their legalized background at the time of entry to the program. In qualified cases, a Spanish language proficiency test is required.

Graduate profile

The graduate of the DCV Program is a graduate who is trained to analyze and solve scientific problems, develop and execute research projects and lines of work, performing individually or as part of a multidisciplinary group at a competitive level in the area of Sciences. Veterinary. The graduate may work in the academic and scientific field, in universities and technological research and development centers of public and private institutions, linked to Veterinary Sciences and related areas.
