The Master's Program in Education with a specialization in Pedagogical Management in Higher Education takes on the challenge of training pedagogical leaders specializing in higher education, whether in the university or technical-professional subsystem. Therefore, the program has been designed around a training pathway that includes the development of teaching skills, curriculum, assessment, and social inclusion, contributing to the strengthening of higher education in Chile.

Applicant Profile

A professional degree (eight semesters) or a Bachelor's degree issued by a national or foreign higher education institution. Foreign professional degrees or Bachelor's degrees must be apostilled at the corresponding embassy or consulate. If these certificates are in another language, they must be translated into Spanish.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Program in Education, with a professional focus and specialization, trained under the socio-critical Educational Model, address societal demands from a rights-based approach and grounded in the principles of transformation and social justice. Furthermore, they become social actors who critically reflect on contemporary educational realities and their role as social transformers through research into their practice, leading the construction of educational and pedagogical knowledge within their professional or academic environment, and confronting the challenges of cultural, social, and economic inclusion from an interdisciplinary and collaborative perspective.

Lines of investigation

1. Educational Perspectives and Contexts. This area encompasses curricular activities that situate students within diverse current educational phenomena, including interculturality, inclusion, human rights, educational policies, and pedagogical leadership. In this sense, this area aims to position students as professionals who understand that their profession and discipline are influenced by various social, cultural, and political factors, which must be interpreted through the lens of pedagogical knowledge, leadership, and political considerations. 2. Research Processes in Educational Practices. This area focuses on deepening the exploration and construction of educational problems, methodological designs, conceptual frameworks, and fieldwork from the perspective of the student's own practice, geared towards the completion of the graduation project, taking into account the specific characteristics of each specialization within the program. In this sense, this area intends that students acquire the necessary skills to successfully complete their graduation process, through a transformative view of educational reality, whether at the school or higher level, allowing them to comprehensively link research work with pedagogical practices carried out in diverse educational contexts.
