goals

The Master of Science in Engineering program, with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering, has the general objective of training researchers in the field of Mechanical Engineering Sciences, based on the promotion of technological research through the transfer of knowledge and the development and implementation of computational tools and experimental methodologies applied to Mechanical Engineering.

The specific objectives of the Program are:

To train graduates who can participate creatively in scientific and technological development through research in engineering companies, laboratories, or research centers.

Enabling graduates to continue their studies in Doctoral Programs, contributing to the development of advanced human capital in the country.

To contribute, through the training of graduates, to innovation, adaptation and improvement in the processes and technologies specific to the discipline.

Applicant Profile

The Program's Admission Profile requires applicants to hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a Civil Engineering degree in a specialty related to Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent degree or qualification that ensures satisfactory prior training for the Program's requirements. In the latter case, special circumstances will be reviewed by the Master's Committee, which will evaluate the applicant's undergraduate qualifications. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate reading comprehension in English for scientific and technical texts in the field.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master of Science in Engineering Program, Major in Mechanical Engineering, will be able to:

a) Generate innovative solutions and proposals to specific problems in Mechanical Engineering, contributing to the strengthening of research and technological development in the area.
b) To contribute to the development and execution of scientific and technological research projects, adapting and optimizing processes and technologies to obtain intermediate and final products.
c) Evaluate and adapt new technologies in the area of mechanical engineering.
