goals
The Master's program aims to contribute to the development of studies and research in Art Theory, Art History, Aesthetics, and Art Studies in general. It seeks to develop research skills in these disciplines through training that incorporates diverse methodological, theoretical, historiographical, and critical perspectives. It promotes the integration of various disciplines in theoretical reflection focused on understanding the artistic phenomenon within its historical development and its contemporary context.
Applicant Profile
Applicants must hold a professional title or academic degree with a minimum duration of eight semesters, conferred by national or foreign universities, whose studies are considered relevant to the program. In the case of foreign applicants, certificates must be legalized by the Chilean Consul in their country of origin or by their consulate in Chile. Applicants must submit a preliminary thesis proposal demonstrating the ability to formulate a research problem and relevance to the field of study. This proposal must be supported by a curriculum vitae detailing the applicant's educational background and the development of skills related to the field of study and academic activity.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Art Theory and History will possess advanced knowledge in the disciplinary areas covered by the program. They will master the issues, approaches, and topics specific to this field of study, with reflective capacity, methodological competencies, and analytical skills that will enable them to conduct disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and integrate into academic and professional work teams in the areas of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
