Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Program in Environmental Management and Planning (MGPA) are trained to work at a high level in the design, analysis, and resolution of environmental problems and in the application of national and international legal provisions, both from the perspective of private companies and government agencies. In this context, graduates of the Master's Program in Environmental Management and Planning possess the basic scientific, methodological, and professional knowledge that allows them to plan and manage socio-environmental systems according to sustainability criteria, as well as address and propose solutions to problems of environmental pollution and degradation. The knowledge and skills acquired enable students to reconcile the complex relationships between ecology and economics, the natural and social sciences, legal and institutional aspects, and national, regional, and local scales. This is emphasized in the prevention and resolution of environmental conflicts, which implies a holistic and integrated understanding of natural, socio-economic, and territorial aspects and their application to environmental planning and management.
