Graduate profile

The Master's program in Relational Clinical Practice with Children and their Parents seeks to train professionals who, capable of developing studies that address clinical problems of childhood in Chile, also demonstrate skills to sustain a rigorous clinical practice concerned with the singularities of each patient.

In this regard, it is expected that its graduates will be able to:

• Possess advanced knowledge of the foundations and theoretical developments of psycho-dynamic and relational clinical psychology applied to childhood problems.
• Develop diagnostic hypotheses and conduct interventions with children and their families, based on an understanding of the particularities of children's expressiveness from a psychodynamic and relational perspective.
• Demonstrate skills to develop qualitative and quantitative clinical research focused on investigating the subjective, family, social, political and institutional determinants that participate in the destinies, presentations, variations or evolutions of child psychopathology and its psychotherapeutic approaches.
• To be able to develop work and active participation in teams, both intra- and interdisciplinary, with a view to facing common tasks and objectives.
• To be able to account for their practice and facilitate the development of a joint reflection with peers and colleagues from different disciplinary fields.
• To carry out professional actions inspired by fundamental ethical aspects for working with children, favoring the defense of their rights, the preservation of their subjectivity and the promotion of their integral development.
