goals

Our program's overall objective is to train researchers in the field of aesthetic theory of Chilean and American cultures, establishing, in the medium term, a new benchmark for scientific exchange for specialists from other parts of the world in the global field of symbolic systems of Chilean and American cultures. Regarding specific objectives, it is worth highlighting: training specialists in the theory and criticism of Chilean and American cultures, based on the documentation and comparative study of their symbolic systems; generating critical agents for disseminating the diversity of our tangible and intangible cultural heritage within the context of globalization; and contributing, from our University, to the cultivation of social awareness regarding the particularities and cultural specificities in Chile and the Americas.
