goals
The objectives of the Master's Program in Nutrition at the Pontifical Catholic University are: a. To provide postgraduate training that integrates cutting-edge knowledge in the field of Human Nutrition and Health, developing skills to conduct scientific research in this discipline. b. To stimulate the development of scientific knowledge in Human Nutrition that contributes to the optimal nutritional status of individuals and populations, as well as to the understanding of the pathophysiology of nutrition-related diseases. c. To expand, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the critical mass of professionals dedicated to research in Nutrition, capable of guiding their decisions according to scientific and ethical criteria.
Applicant Profile
Applications are welcome from physicians, nutritionists, biochemists, and other graduates in Health Sciences and Biological Sciences interested in research in the area of Human Nutrition. Admission to the Master's Program in Nutrition requires a Bachelor's degree from a university recognized by the State of Chile, or, in the case of foreign institutions, by the State of the corresponding country. Successful completion of the selection process is required.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Nutrition at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile are able to: • Analyze and integrate the contribution of biological, environmental, and cultural determinants that influence the nutritional status of individuals and populations, with an emphasis on the study of Nutritional Metabolism, the relationship between food and health, Nutritional Physiology, the Genetics-Nutrition interaction, Nutritional Pathology, Nutritional Epidemiology, and Public Health Nutrition. • Actively participate in conducting nutritional research that generates knowledge aimed at improving the health status of individuals and populations, applying scientific and ethical principles.
