General objective
The overall objective of the Program is to train highly qualified professionals with executive and operational skills to design and manage policies, programs, projects, and processes in public sector organizations, especially at the regional and local levels. Through this, the Program seeks to contribute to capacity building that fosters more inclusive development throughout the country.
Specific objectives
• To provide students with a solid multidisciplinary education in the field of public policy, including theoretical aspects of economics, management sciences, statistics and political science.
• To provide students with a comprehensive perspective on public policy management, incorporating not only a solid theoretical foundation, but also the analysis of elements involved in its practical application, political economy, and organizational management.
• To provide students with tools for the management of public institutions, with a special focus on the challenges at the regional and local levels.
• To develop in students skills in strategic thinking, leadership, effective communication, probity and transparency, negotiation and teamwork, for the better management of public organizations.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Program are expected to have the following competency profile:
• Knowledge of theoretical aspects of economics, management sciences, statistics, political science and sociology, applied to the field of policy management
public.
• Ability to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in practice, considering the socio-economic context, the reality of the organization in which one works and the views of the groups of people involved.
• Ability to manage public institutions, especially at the regional and local levels, considering the particularities of these territorial levels.
• Skills in strategic thinking, leadership, effective communication, integrity and transparency, negotiation and teamwork, for the better management of public organizations.

Lines of investigation

i. Management Fundamentals: Management fundamentals encompass the functional areas of organizations that aim to plan, coordinate, and organize the
economic, social and technical resources, as well as evaluating and controlling the results.
They include: human resources; financial resources; production processes; administration, rules and procedures; and service delivery.
ii. General Education and Knowledge of the Environment: These subjects aim to broaden the student's knowledge within a wider and more diverse scope.
iii. Management of Institutions and Public Policies: These subjects cover the in-depth and specialization content specific to the Program.
iv. Skills Development: These subjects are geared towards the development of soft skills necessary to become an effective manager, such as thinking
strategic thinking, leadership, effective communication, negotiation, and teamwork.
