General objective
TO TRAIN HUMAN RESOURCES AT THE MASTER'S LEVEL IN ECONOMICS, WITH AUTONOMOUS CAPACITY TO DEVELOP RESEARCH IN APPLIED ECONOMICS TOPICS WITH A LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE, IN TOPICS RELATED TO NATURAL RESOURCES AND THE ENVIRONMENT, AND TO CONTINUE DOCTORAL STUDIES IN NATURAL RESOURCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS AND RELATED DISCIPLINES, IN AREAS RELEVANT TO COUNTRIES OF LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN.

Specific objectives
– To develop the graduate's research capacity in the area of Natural Resource and Environmental Economics. In particular, graduates of this program should be able to understand and apply modern specialized literature on topics in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics to real-world problems of natural resource use, and environmental valuation and conservation.
– To generate the capacity to efficiently manage the environment and to make policy decisions related to the use of natural and environmental resources in both the public and private sectors.
