goals
General objective
To train graduates with the skills to conduct research in the field of Environmental Sciences, with an interdisciplinary vision for the understanding and analysis of complex environmental problems, from the perspective of sustainable development, with special emphasis on aquatic systems, environmental risk and territorial planning, and environmental engineering.
Specific objectives
– To contribute to the training of researchers prepared to participate in the generation of scientific knowledge in Environmental Sciences from the perspective of sustainable development.
– To promote interdisciplinary research to address complex environmental problems with special emphasis on aquatic systems, environmental risk and land-use planning, and environmental engineering.
– To contribute to the generation of knowledge that supports environmental management and provides relevant information for the development of environmental instruments and policies related to aquatic systems, environmental risk and territorial planning, and environmental engineering.
Applicant Profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Environmental Sciences at the University of Concepción will possess a solid conceptual and methodological academic foundation, enabling them to analyze environmental problems based on current scientific knowledge and integrating the elements of sustainable development (ecological, social, and economic dimensions). They will be prepared to join interdisciplinary research teams in environmental sciences, with an emphasis on areas such as aquatic systems, environmental risk and land-use planning, and/or environmental engineering. Furthermore, they will be equipped to communicate scientific knowledge in diverse contexts.
