To train researchers specializing in the field of History, capable of generating disciplinary knowledge and integrating work teams, who contribute to the understanding of historical problems from a humanist and Christian perspective, both nationally and internationally.
Applicant Profile
The Master's Program in History is designed for professionals from the Humanities, Social Sciences, Communication, Education, and other related disciplines who are interested in enhancing their knowledge and developing research in the field of History. Students in the program should be willing to work independently and collaboratively within the discipline.
Graduate profile
The graduate is equipped to integrate diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives and heuristic models, enabling them to conduct historical research with a humanist and Christian vision. They are capable of addressing historiographical problems, applying various methods and techniques specific to disciplinary research, generating knowledge through collaborative efforts and the development of scholarly publications. The graduate will be qualified to work in the scientific, teaching, and research project fields within academic, cultural, and social institutions.
Lines of investigation
According to the classifications of ANID and OECD, the program falls under the research area of "History." This area addresses the political, economic, social, and cultural dimensions of the development of human societies in different spatial contexts throughout time. The spatial context includes the historical processes of Chile and the world, within the temporal framework of Chilean, American, and world history.
