To train researchers with a solid theoretical and methodological foundation, capable of conducting ethically rigorous research in applied linguistics, specializing in text comprehension and production or in language acquisition and teaching

Applicant Profile

Applicants to the program must hold a bachelor's degree in a field related to applied linguistics or an equivalent professional qualification. They must have a strong motivation for research and an interest in the topics and problems of text comprehension and production and/or language acquisition and teaching. Prior professional or research experience in the area will also be considered an asset. Finally, applicants must be able to understand academic texts written in English.

Graduate profile

The Master's graduate:
– Possesses up-to-date theoretical and methodological knowledge in applied linguistics to identify and formulate relevant research problems in one of the program's areas of specialization.
– Is qualified to carry out research in text comprehension and production and/or language acquisition and teaching with ethical rigor and communicate the results of their research.
– Is qualified to join research teams in the area of applied linguistics and continue specialization studies in a doctoral program.
