goals
To train professionals from the public sector and civil society in the southern regions of Chile, in conceptual and political matters of public health, epidemiology and research and intervention methodologies, applicable in the field of community health at regional and local levels.
Applicant Profile
Professional Title and/or Academic Degree of Bachelor in, or have a University Professional Title in some discipline of Health Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Health, or other related discipline, granted by a national or foreign university in a program officially recognized in Chile.
Graduate profile
The Master in Community Public Health and Local Development, trained at the University of La Frontera, is a postgraduate program with the skills to perform in the management of community public health services, applied territorial research, and the generation of health and development projects.
He has training in health and society, research and community development, and social and socio-cultural epidemiology. His training enables him to reflectively analyze public health problems to understand health-disease-care processes, develop public health strategies considering territorial relevance to improve local health management, conduct applied research to understand and transform health realities and local development, and develop participatory public health projects in community contexts to address socio-health problems.
Demonstrates teamwork skills, critical thinking, ethics, and respect for people, the environment, and cultural diversity.
Graduates of the Master's program in Community Public Health and Local Development from the University of La Frontera will be able to work in primary, secondary, and tertiary health care centers, social programs, and higher education centers, in the public, private, and non-profit civil society sectors.
