goals

General objective:
To strengthen the theoretical and methodological skills of professionals in the southern macro-region of the country, updating and deepening their knowledge about families from an intercultural perspective, relevant to their field of intervention, which also allows them to critically analyze public policies,
guiding them towards the recognition of the diversity of families and their life contexts.

Specific objectives:
1. To strengthen theoretical and methodological skills in the field of interventions with families, from
an intercultural perspective, favoring the re-description of their own professional practice,
systematizing it as experiential knowledge.
2. To contribute to intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue with other perspectives on approaching social issues, which allows for reorienting professional action and the implementation of public policies, placing them in a relational dynamic that articulates the criteria of social justice and respect for diversity.

Applicant Profile

Applicants to the Master's program are preferably professionals from various fields within the social sciences who work in the field of social intervention, in areas related to the program's guidelines. They must demonstrate at least one year of professional experience or provide evidence of work in institutional settings or social organizations that focus their efforts on issues related to the program's objectives.

Graduate profile

The graduation profile includes the development and evidence of the following competencies or performances:

1. Applies knowledge that allows him/her to develop a critical social practice with families from an intercultural perspective, favoring the re-description of his/her own professional practice, systematizing it as experiential knowledge.
2. It promotes interdisciplinary dialogue with other perspectives on social issues, thereby enabling it to reorient the design and management of public policies, placing them in a relational dynamic that articulates the criteria of social justice and respect for diversity.
3. Build contextualized knowledge to broaden the understanding of family diversity present in Chile and Latin America from an intercultural perspective, allowing the transformation of the various situations of social distress suffered by families.
