goals
The Program aims to train qualified human resources in food science, technology, and engineering for the Region and the country. Graduates will contribute to the development of applied research in the food industry. Furthermore, they will be prepared to actively participate in society, in the private or public sectors, to advance scientific development, innovation, and technological diversification of food processes and quality, contributing to the planning of food resource use and management.
Applicant Profile
Applicants to the Master's program in Food Engineering must possess knowledge and personal characteristics that enable them to successfully complete the program and obtain the Master's degree within a reasonable time.
Application requirements:
Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science or an equivalent level.
Be a Food Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Industrial Chemist, Biochemist or similar profession.
Submit your application and be accepted by the Program Council.
Submit certified photocopies of the certificates of degrees and grades.
Submit a detailed curriculum vitae.
Attend a personal interview with the Program Council.
Graduate profile

Learn and apply advanced food preservation techniques.
Use non-traditional food sources.
Apply experimental research designs.
Generate publications in scientific journals.

Lines of investigation
The program has three lines of research:
1.-Food processing
-Heat and mass transfer.
-High hydrostatic pressures
-Food Dehydration.
2.-Identification and extraction of biocompounds
– Micro-encapsulation in food.
3. Analysis and processing
-Process modeling.
-Food chemistry and biochemistry.
-Enzyme technology.
-Biocatalysis and bioprocesses.
