goals

The PhD in Computing is a program designed to provide students with a solid foundation and research skills in Computer Science, preparing them to make relevant contributions that advance knowledge of the discipline and to perform in positions that require research knowledge and skills, whether in academia, industry, organizations or government.

Applicant Profile

The general admission requirement is a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Computer Science, or a degree or diploma considered equivalent in level and content. In cases where an applicant does not possess this equivalent qualification, but the admissions committee deems them capable of completing the program once they have addressed their educational deficiencies, they will be admitted conditionally and will be required to take the leveling courses assigned by the committee.

Graduate profile

Graduates of this program will be able to work as researchers, applying a scientific approach. Specifically, they will be able to identify relevant research problems, formulate and execute research projects using appropriate methodologies, both individually and collaboratively, and communicate their results through scientific publications, oral presentations, and other means. Graduates will be qualified to hold academic positions in higher education institutions, as well as research and development positions in scientific and technological institutions and companies, both in Chile and abroad.
