Applicant Profile

Chileans or foreigners who hold a bachelor's or master's degree in the field of disciplines related to this program may apply to the program leading to the degree of Doctor in Aquaculture.

Graduate profile

“The PhD in Aquaculture will be qualified to conduct scientific research and technological innovation of international quality. Their training will allow them to integrate effectively into research and/or academic institutions, private companies, or public agencies, contributing to the sustainable development of aquaculture.” Upon completion of the program, graduates of the PhD in Aquaculture are expected to acquire the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes: Demonstrate an advanced understanding of aquaculture production systems, being able to perform critical analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of new and complex ideas in the discipline. Conceive, design, and execute original scientific research in aquaculture autonomously and with ethical and scientific integrity, publishing the results of their research in specialized scientific journals and/or protecting the intellectual property of the knowledge or innovation generated with a competent organization. Communicate the scientific or technological knowledge specific to the discipline to the productive sector and society as a whole, to promote the advancement of the national and international aquaculture sector.
