The agreement includes a commitment to promote and facilitate collaboration and cooperation between the two entities. Of the 25 universities belonging to CRUCH, 19 are part of the REUNA Corporation.
With a view to establishing a new space for discussion, cooperation and collaboration in higher education, the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) and the National University Network (REUNA) signed a joint work agreement.
The signing of the document was made official on November 11, in a ceremony held at the CRUCH office, which was attended by Juan Manuel Zolezzi, executive vice president of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities; José Palacios, president of the board of REUNA and Paola Arellano, executive director of the National University Network.
Rector Zolezzi stated that establishing this alliance was important for CRUCH, given that many of its member universities already had this connection with REUNA. “Joining the Council of Rectors would grant us communication and a presence with each of these universities and, furthermore, would allow us to venture into other areas that will become increasingly important, such as distance education. We also believe it is valuable to be able to promote the activities we offer to our member institutions through REUNA.”.
For her part, Paola Arellano noted that through this agreement, REUNA fulfills its mission of fostering collaboration with institutions that share the same academic, scientific, educational, or cultural objectives. “We believe that science and education are the driving forces behind a nation’s social, cultural, and economic progress, and that collaboration and networking are fundamental to advancing along this path. Therefore, today we celebrate the integration of the Council of Rectors into REUNA.”.
Thanks to this agreement, CRUCH members will have access to the REUNA digital platform, which spans from Arica to Osorno, and the services it offers. The agreement also aims to disseminate information among members of both institutions about public events of national interest organized through the REUNA digital platform.
