Paola Bon, Project Officer of the European Commission, paid a visit to the Council of Rectors to discuss the prospects of the ALFA PUENTES project, in which the Council has participated with the Association of European Universities.

A group of directors of International Relations from the Council of Rectors (CRUCH) met with Paola Bon, Project Officer of the European Commission. During the meeting, participants praised the ALFA PUENTES project, which has strengthened ties with universities in various Latin American countries, as well as with European institutions. For future projects, CRUCH representatives discussed the possibility of more active participation in the design process and facilitating more consistent communication between the parties.

At the meeting, Bon provided information about the European Union's future regional programs for Latin America and the possibilities for participation for the universities of the CRUCH (Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities).

Furthermore, the representative emphasized the future of the Erasmus+ Programme for the 2014–2020 period, which will offer diverse opportunities for higher education students, researchers, and institutions worldwide. She referred to joint master's programs, in which Chilean universities could participate in consortia; the same applies to joint doctoral programs, which will be part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action; and to mobility programs that include the recognition of academic credits through inter-institutional agreements. Finally, she mentioned capacity-building programs in which universities can participate in Erasmus+ consortia.
