Chilean and American academics exchanged experiences and agreed to explore future collaboration mechanisms.
A meeting was held at the offices of the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) between vice-rectors and directors of Postgraduate and Research from the institutions of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) and the dean of the Postgraduate School of the Ohio State University from the United States.
Professor Osmer's presentation showed the similarity of difficulties faced, both in the United States and in Chile, when designing and evaluating doctoral and master's programs.
The meeting confirmed that there is a mutual interest in exchanging experiences and sharing best practice criteria to benefit the quality of postgraduate programs, which in the near future could materialize in the holding of workshops to address topics in specific areas of postgraduate training.
