The Scopus Elsevier award was given to eight Chilean scientists based on the number of publications and citations their work receives. Rector Rodríguez was awarded in the area of Engineering and Earth Sciences. The Rector of the Federico Santa María Technical University, Dr. José Rodríguez, received the award.
At the monthly meeting of the Council of Rectors, held in Talca, representatives from the 25 universities of the CRUCH (Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities) analyzed the student mobilizations. They also received a visit from the new Head of the Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education, Alberto Vásquez. The Council of Rectors met at the facilities of the Catholic University of Talca.
