goals
To train Advanced Practice Nurses who excel in their specialized theoretical and practical knowledge of pharmacology, pathophysiology, and comprehensive assessment for the appropriate management of individuals with specific pathologies within a clinical setting with extended nursing responsibilities. To provide society with nurses possessing clinical skills, capable of critically analyzing evidence, making complex decisions, advocating for patient care, and demonstrating greater problem-solving capacity and leadership in the clinical setting to contribute to increasing access to and coverage of healthcare for individuals with pathologies in specific areas, providing comprehensive, integrated, safe, and high-quality care to the individual and their family. To offer specialized nursing training that produces competent professionals in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and clinical follow-up of individuals with specific pathologies. These professionals will base their work on evidence-based practice, demonstrate ethical discernment, act with greater autonomy and leadership to actively collaborate in addressing pathologies, maintain effective communication, and lead mentoring processes with interprofessional and interdisciplinary working groups to provide high-quality healthcare services. To provide advanced practice nursing training with a focus on oncology to deliver comprehensive and specialized care to individuals with cancer. This training will support caregivers in their role and promote best practices within established chronological teams for cancer prevention, detection, and treatment, thereby improving the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of oncology healthcare services.
Applicant Profile
Hold a Bachelor's degree and a professional university title in nursing or nursing-obstetrics awarded by a University recognized by the State of Chile, or in the case of foreign institutions, by the State of the corresponding country.
Graduate profile
Upon completion of the program, graduates are qualified to practice advanced practice nursing as visionary, autonomous, proactive, and innovative professionals, capable of addressing the health needs and problems of individuals, families, groups, and communities. Their training enables them to develop processes for assessing health status, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with specific pathologies within the context of established healthcare teams.
