With the participation of the postgraduate directorates of eleven universities from the Council of Rectors, the mission to the universities of Colombia was successfully carried out, which had the purpose of disseminating the offer of doctoral programs and learning about the policies and mechanisms of that country in the training and financing of postgraduate scholarships abroad.

The program was developed in collaboration with PROCHILE and AGCI, thus allowing coordination with the Embassy of Chile in Bogotá and with the scholarship programs offered by the Pacific Alliance.

The intensive program held in Bogotá on November 12 and 13 included working sessions and exchanges with the University of Los Andes, Javeriana University, and La Salle University. Each meeting strengthened ties, gathered expectations, and highlighted the potential for reciprocal collaboration in postgraduate training and research development between our universities.

Simultaneously, meetings were held with key public and private entities that implement programs supporting postgraduate development and internationalization, such as COLCIENCIA, ICETEX, and COLFUTURO. Through dialogue with each of these institutions, it was possible to understand the Colombian system, identify its contributions and strengths, and, most importantly, establish channels for exchange that will facilitate academic collaboration in the near future.

Between November 14 and 15, the Chilean delegation actively participated in the LACHEC Conference, held in Barranquilla, a forum focused on the internationalization of higher education. During this event, exchange meetings were held with representatives from the National University of Colombia, the University of Los Llanos, the University of the Atlantic, the University of Antioquia, and others, with the aim of promoting the programs offered by CRUCH universities and identifying areas of mutual interest focused on strengthening collaboration in doctoral training.

Following these exchange sessions, the Chilean delegation positively assessed the experience and acknowledged the need to maintain a permanent link with Colombian universities. This will enrich the development of internationalization in postgraduate studies and research, while also strategically positioning the Council of Rectors (CRUCH) within the Latin American context. The CRUCH Postgraduate Commission will monitor the agreements that will allow the dialogues and intentions expressed during this mission to Colombia to be implemented.
