«The CRUCH universities are present throughout the country, in all regions, and we will have guidance for all applicants, so that they know about the process and are informed before making a decision,” said Ruth Candia, president of the CRUCH Admission and Enrollment Commission.
The application period for universities begins next Tuesday, January 2nd, at 9:00 a.m., and the 30 institutions of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) are already prepared to guide and support those who aspire to enter one of the university programs.
For the 2024 admissions cycle, the CRUCH universities, present in all regions of the country, will offer 69,442 regular places across a total of 1,266 degree programs. Of all the universities in the country, CRUCH's offerings represent 54.1% of the places and 6.2% of the degree programs.
Among the key recommendations for the application stage, two can be mentioned: get properly informed and apply in a timely manner, considering that the deadline is January 5 at 1 p.m.
According to Ruth Candia, president of the CRUCH Admissions and Enrollment Committee, “it is essential that all applicants are informed about the university admissions process and the criteria that are applied.” She added that “applicants can visit universities to inquire, learn about the programs and their opportunities, and find out how to apply.”.
“The CRUCH universities are present throughout the country, in all regions, and we will have guidance for all applicants, so that they know about the process and are informed before making a decision,” said the Director of Student Registration at the University of La Frontera (UFRO).
For Candia, it's also key to "apply to the program and university where you want to study, in order of preference." Regarding last year's scores, she suggested "taking them only as a reference point, because applicants change from year to year, so they can vary, especially now that the Higher Education Access Test (PAES) has only been administered for the second time.".
Finally, he urged students to "review the benefits available to finance their studies, especially if they have free tuition, because this is only effective in universities adhering to the free tuition policy.".
Regarding upcoming important dates, it is worth remembering that on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, applicants will be able to find out the results of the selection process through their account on www.acceso.mineduc.cl
Meanwhile, the regular enrollment period for universities will be between January 17 and 19.
