Under the motto "From South to North, building Good Living", the meeting will take place in Santiago, between April 18 and 23, 2023, in a face-hybrid format.
The initiative, sponsored by the Council of Rectors, will accept proposals for presentations until Saturday, October 15.
With a view to holding the XIII Latin American Congress of Research for Peace From South to North, building Good Living, academics from institutions that are part of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) are invited to participate as speakers at this event.
The meeting is co-organized by the Latin American Congress of Peace Research (CLAIP), the Alberto Hurtado University of Chile (UAH) and the Chilean Mediators Association AG., and is sponsored by CRUCH.
The activity will take place on April 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2023, in Santiago, Chile, in a hybrid in-person format.
For this version of the Congress, the academic community and all organizations, social movements, activists and artists committed to peacebuilding, non-violent conflict transformation and the defense of life are invited to submit proposals that contribute to the construction of Good Living in Latin America and the world.
Five thematic axes
The XIII Latin American Congress of Research for Peace accepts proposals for research papers, practical experiences, round tables, artistic interventions, and book presentations, in Spanish, Portuguese and English, related to any of the fields of knowledge and disciplines (from social sciences, education sciences, law, humanities, arts and sports, to natural sciences, engineering or medicine).
The proposals must be linked to 5 thematic areas: 1) Climate change, environmental sustainability, health and well-being, 2) Peacebuilding, conflict transformation, justice and human rights, 3) Culture of peace, education and communication for peace, art and sport, 4) Participatory governance and alternative economies and 5) Gender, diversity, vulnerabilities and ancestral and native peoples.
Registration of proposals
Those wishing to participate in the Congress as speakers must register and submit their proposal through the following link.
The presentation registration form must include an extended summary of the proposal (between 750 and 1000 words) that includes a brief description of the theoretical or situational framework, the objectives and methodology used, the results achieved and the conclusions or lessons learned if it is a research presentation, an experience or a round table; a description of the intervention, its objectives and dynamics if it is an artistic presentation; or a summary of contents if it is a book presentation.
Papers can have a maximum of 4 authors. Proposals can be submitted until Saturday, October 15th.
The Congress Academic Committee will evaluate all proposals received in a double-blind review system considering criteria of quality, originality and relevance.
