The CRUCH opened a call to elect the members of its Civil Society Council, aimed at non-profit legal entities that work on issues such as equity and inclusion in higher education, quality in this field and human capital development, among others.
Those who wish to participate can apply until 12:00 pm on Friday, July 29.
In compliance with the provisions of Law No. 20,500 on Associations and Citizen Participation in Public Management, the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) opened an application process aimed at organizations of public interest to elect the members of its Civil Society Council (COSOC).
The call is aimed at non-profit legal entities that are related to the topics of competence of CRUCH, such as equity and inclusion in higher education; quality of higher education; human capital formation for the development of the country; social role of universities and emerging areas or topics linked to the needs of citizens.
“We invite organizations that work from all regions of Chile and that put their efforts into ensuring that the higher education system improves its quality and social inclusion parameters, in accordance with the needs and requirements of the diverse communities that make up the country, to participate in our COSOC,” said the acting general secretary of the Council of Rectors, Marcela Cifuentes.
The CRUCH Civil Society Council will be composed of a minimum of six and a maximum of eight organizations. Members of this body will serve indefinitely.
Organizations with legal personality in Chile and whose work objective is related to the topics of competence of CRUCH may participate in this call.
Regarding the candidacies of representatives, members of the institutions already described may be nominated, provided they are sponsored by these institutions and do not present any of the disqualifications established in article 15 of the Regulations on the Operation and Composition of the COSOC of the Council of Rectors, That is, to be officials in any capacity of the CRUCH and hold an elected office.
Application requirements
Organizations interested in participating in this call for proposals must complete a registration form, available on our website, in the section Citizen participation.
In addition, they must submit: a) a certificate of validity of the organization; b) statutes or constitution document of the organization duly legalized, c) document that accredits the legal representation of the organization, and d) a curriculum vitae or dossier of the organization that specifies its work associated with the topics of competence of the CRUCH.
In the case of those who represent the organization or are designated for the purpose of their integration into the COSOC, the following must be presented: a) a certification delivered by the person who presides over or represents the organization accrediting the membership of the person who is applying and b) a curriculum vitae of the candidate that specifies their experience in the topics of competence of the Council.
Groups will only be able to register one candidate.
The registration form and the corresponding legal documentation must be sent to the email address cruch@consejoderectores.cl. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 29th, at 12:00 PM.
Selection of COSOC members
The Secretary General of CRUCH will designate the organizations that will make up the COSOC, within a period of 30 working days from the day of the end of the application period.
This selection will be made after evaluating the background information submitted by the groups. To ensure transparency in the selection process, the evaluation will be based on criteria specified in the terms and conditions of the call for applications, available on the website of the Council of Rectors, Citizen Participation section.
