goals
Program Objective: To train translators specializing in translation studies and teletranslation with strong professional cognitive, instrumental, and attitudinal skills that enable them to solve complex translation problems. Specific Objectives: To develop knowledge of translation theory, research methodology applied to translation, and professional, normative, and ethical principles of translation, allowing graduates to guide their professional practice through the well-founded resolution of translation problems. To enhance students' knowledge in the most in-demand areas of translation specialization in our country, according to market research periodically conducted by the program's faculty. To train students to master translation technologies, including the use of new computer tools, the management of complex translation projects, and remote collaborative work. To develop skills that facilitate graduates' professional integration through real translation assignments and internships in public and private companies and institutions.
Applicant Profile
Admission Profile: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in translation or a related field (Art. 3 of the program regulations). Advanced proficiency in English, particularly reading comprehension. Advanced proficiency in Spanish, particularly writing. Interest in staying current with current affairs. Intermediate proficiency in ICT and computer skills. Basic ability to critically understand linguistic and cultural phenomena. Basic ability to propose solutions to interlinguistic and intercultural problems. Basic interpersonal skills for teamwork.
Graduate profile
Upon completion of the program, graduates of the Master's in Translation will be able to: Apply theoretical models of translation to inform decision-making during the planning, development, and evaluation of translation projects across different modalities and text types. Utilize thematic and terminological methodologies to address complex translation projects. Apply translation technologies to various translation assignments to effectively manage individual and team translation projects. Apply the translation revision and quality control process to translation projects. Apply professional, normative, and ethical principles of translation in their work as professional translators.
