To train graduates with advanced theoretical and methodological knowledge for research in Social Work, with advanced skills for the articulation between research and social interventions that are based on a solid ethical foundation.

Applicant Profile

Admission to the Master's Program in Social Work requires: a) Holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification awarded by a university recognized by the State of Chile, or in the case of foreign institutions, by the State of the corresponding country. b) Relevant work experience and/or academic training in the field of social intervention or a related discipline. c) Passing the selection process.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Program in Social Work Research are expected to be able to: – Develop advanced research skills and capabilities in Social Work to contribute to the generation of disciplinary knowledge and the design of innovative intervention proposals. – Critically analyze contemporary society from a disciplinary perspective: the dynamics of exclusion/inclusion; paradoxes of growth and inequality; and the creation of opportunities for disadvantaged social groups, among others. – Examine the disciplinary, epistemological, and ethical foundations upon which social interventions are based. – Conduct advanced analyses of social policies, programs, and interventions. – Ground their professional practice in sound ethical discernment.
