The overall objective of the Master's Program in Sociology is to provide theoretical, methodological, and analytical tools that enable students to understand diverse contemporary social phenomena and processes from a sociological perspective, as well as to conduct rigorous social research using updated data methodologies. The specific objectives of the Master's Program in Sociology are: To impart knowledge of current and relevant theoretical debates in sociology; to provide analytical and conceptual tools that allow for the understanding of social phenomena and processes in various areas of the sociological discipline; to train students in the design and execution of rigorous social research through the construction and analysis of data using updated methodologies; and to enable students to conduct their own research in a specific area of sociology through the Master's Thesis.

Applicant Profile

Those interested in the Master's program in Sociology must meet the following requirements: Hold a Bachelor's degree. If they hold academic degrees from abroad, these must be equivalent to those mentioned above. Possess sufficient command of English to understand written English at a level that allows them to read articles and books and access international documents and databases.

Graduate profile

The graduate of the Master's Program in Sociology will: Possess knowledge of current and relevant theoretical debates in the field of sociology. Be able to analyze diverse social phenomena and processes in specific areas of sociology. Be able to design and conduct rigorous social research through data collection and analysis using updated methodologies. Be qualified to conduct independent research in a specific area of sociology through the development of a Master's Thesis. 8. Understand the legal framework governing the role of journalists and media companies.
