goals
General: To train outstanding professionals in the design, analysis, evaluation, and implementation of public policies, who possess an interdisciplinary understanding of public affairs and an ethical commitment to advancing the common good. Specific: To offer specialized theoretical and practical training for the formulation, analysis, implementation, and evaluation of public policies. To provide an interdisciplinary understanding of the country's public problems and implemented public policies, as well as comparative experiences in other countries. To contribute to ethical training for professional practice in the public sector.
Applicant Profile
This program is designed for graduates or professionals from various disciplines at national or international universities, with or without prior work experience, who aspire to professional and leadership positions in the public sector, as well as in private sector and civil society organizations. Application Requirements: You must meet the following requirements: Hold a bachelor's degree or professional university title obtained from a university recognized by the State of Chile, or, in the case of foreign institutions, by the State of the corresponding country. Possess an intermediate level of English that allows you to read specialized texts on the program's topics. Complete and submit the required documents and attend a personal interview. Applicants without demonstrable university-level knowledge in Fundamentals of Economics and/or Mathematics must complete and pass the leveling course(s) indicated for them.
Graduate profile
Competencies you will develop in this Master's program: Knowledge of the most relevant public issues. You will understand how society, the economy, and politics function in relation to public policy. You will learn about the main public challenges and the policies that seek to address them, at both the local and international levels. You will understand the functioning of the State and its capacity to implement public policies. Analytical and ethical reflection skills: You will know how to design public policies by applying the most appropriate methodologies, integrating ends, means, and capabilities. You will consider ethical reflection as an essential factor in the analysis and discussion of public policies. You will learn to make evidence-based decisions and define strategies for the implementation of public policies. Working in multidisciplinary teams: You will understand the contributions of different disciplines to public policy. You will learn to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. You will be able to integrate diverse perspectives in problem-solving. Making decisions and communicating positions effectively: You will be able to take a position, using technical and ethical arguments, on public policies and defend your point of view in public. You will communicate clearly, concisely, and informatively in writing and orally. You will deliver effective presentations. You will use evidence effectively: You will know how to conduct research to obtain relevant evidence to inform decisions on public issues. You will critically evaluate the quality, relevance, and validity of reported evidence (in reports, papers, media, and other sources of information). You will be familiar with the main techniques for evaluating public policies.
