The central objective of the Master's in Sociology
is to train researchers who are capable of
to produce and use knowledge reflectively
theoretical and methodological of a high academic level
to understand the transformations
sociocultural, the processes of globalization
and transnationality, as well as the new
conditions of stratification and inequality that
contemporary society faces
Applicant Profile
The program is geared towards graduates in sociology and related social science disciplines. In duly justified cases, the program may accept students from other fields of study (humanities, sciences). A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification is required.
Graduate profile
The graduate profile is organized around
four dimensions: theoretical-conceptual, of
research, ethics and basic skills.
Each of these dimensions is composed of
the following elements.
1. From a theoretical-conceptual point of view,
Graduates will be able to:
• Understand what the sociological perspective is and
how she contributes to the analysis of society.
• Identify the questions and problems
fundamental issues addressed by sociological theory
contemporary. 2. From the research dimension, the
Graduates will be able to:
• Pose a sociological question about
Research. 3. From the ethical dimension, the students
will be in a condition to:
• Develop an investigation within the frameworks
4. From the perspective of basic competencies
The students will be in a position to:
• Identify theoretical and conceptual arguments in
reading sociological texts.
