goals

To train outstanding postgraduate students with competencies related to the analysis of critical aspects of the Chilean education system and their translation into the design, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs that contribute to social justice within the education system. The program provides training based on an in-depth exploration of the historical, cultural, and social dimensions that underpin Chilean educational development, as well as theoretical and methodological contributions that support the analysis, design, and development of educational policies aimed at contributing to a more just and equitable society.

Applicant Profile

The program is aimed at professionals in the fields of education, social sciences, economics, and humanities who work or wish to work in educational policy and planning, whether in ministries and local entities related to education (municipalities, local education services, foundations, NGOs, etc.) and/or in institutions involved in supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational policy issues (educational assessments, political analysis of educational scenarios, design of educational policy interventions), as well as in applied educational research. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent professional qualification from a program of at least eight semesters, awarded by an accredited national or internationally recognized university.

Graduate profile

• Ability to perform a critical analysis of educational policies, taking into consideration their contexts and orientations.
• Ability to systematize and communicate knowledge and evidence that are relevant to decision-making in educational policies in the public and private sectors, as well as at their different levels: macro, meso and micro.
• Ability to translate and apply social science knowledge in the design, management, implementation, analysis and evaluation of policies and programs in the educational field.
• Ability to design and reformulate specific instruments and programs in the educational field, so that they can be applied in specific contexts and contribute to greater social justice.
