The Master's Program in Dentistry at the University of La Frontera aims to train postgraduate professionals who have the skills to develop in the field of dental research, applying the scientific method and principles of bioethics, to participate in the development and management of clinical or experimental research, disseminating their results through publication in indexed journals.

Applicant Profile

To be admitted to the Master's Program in Dentistry, applicants must hold a professional degree as a Dental Surgeon or equivalent, or a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry or equivalent; or a Bachelor's degree in another related discipline with a minimum duration of eight academic semesters. They must demonstrate a motivation for research and the development of scientific knowledge. Furthermore, they must possess a basic level of reading comprehension and listening skills in English, and user-level proficiency in basic computer tools and internet searches.

Graduate profile

He possesses specific knowledge of research methodology, evidence-based dentistry, clinical epidemiology, research management, bioethics, and biostatistics.
Their training enables them to: (1.1) define research problems in the clinical or experimental field, applying critical thinking in the review of available scientific evidence, oriented towards contributing to the scientific community; (2.1) develop research collaboratively in work teams, considering the principles of bioethics; (2.2) analyze research results, discussing their scope and limitations; (3.1) explain research results orally to specialized and non-specialized audiences; (3.2) report research results in writing to the scientific community through publications in national and international journals.
Graduates of the Master's Degree in Dentistry from the University of La Frontera will be able to perform ethically with critical thinking in work teams in universities, Health Services and Departments and in the private practice of the profession.
