goals

The objective of the Master's Program in Mining is to train graduates with strong analytical skills and a solid foundation in mining-related disciplines, including deposit evaluation, rock mechanics, mining technology, mine planning, mineral economics, and sustainability. Graduates of the program will be able to address complex mining engineering problems using up-to-date tools or by developing their own solutions based on the training acquired during the Master's program; and to lead research and technological development projects in mining companies. It is also expected that graduates will gain a comprehensive understanding of the mining business to guide their decision-making in the workplace.

Applicant Profile

Hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree, specializing in Mining and Extractive Metallurgy, from the University of Chile or an equivalent degree from this or another University, ensuring satisfactory prior training for the purposes and requirements of the Program

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Program will be able to lead research and technological development projects, and will also be qualified to perform professional functions in production companies, consulting firms, or public and/or private institutions within the mining sector. It is also expected that graduates will gain a comprehensive understanding of the mining business to guide their decision-making in the workplace.
