The Master's program in Latin American History at Diego Portales University seeks to train researchers at the postgraduate level who have a solid foundation
knowledge of the debates and historiographical production related to history
modern and contemporary history of the continent, prioritizing comparative analyses and
transnational corporations.
Applicant Profile
The program is aimed at history graduates, history teachers, and people with related degrees in the humanities and social sciences.
It is desirable that applicants have some form of initial training in
Research (thesis, dissertation, research assistant, etc.) and/or experience as a teaching assistant

The program's components are structured around the following dimensions:
1. Disciplinary knowledge:
• To know the historiography on Latin America of the 19th and 20th centuries, being able to account for the state of the art of the discipline in this area of study.
• Critically analyze the main historiographical currents related to Latin America, 19th and 20th centuries, with special emphasis on comparative and transnational processes.
2. Research:
• Formulate conceptually and methodologically relevant research questions that are addressable in a bibliographic or empirical research study or project on the historiography of
Latin America in the 19th and 20th centuries.
3. Academic communication:
• Produce academic communication at the postgraduate level through written texts in the format of critical reading reports, bibliographic essays, research articles and master's theses.
Lines of investigation
Her lines of research are diverse, including the memory of recent history, gender and feminisms, ethnicities and colonialisms, violence and civil wars, the transnational history of modernity, among other current topics of interest, which provide subjects of study for the completion of the thesis leading to the Master's degree.
