The Master's Degree in Aquatic Resource Management is a professional program aimed at training specialists who contribute to the public and private management of human activities that utilize aquatic ecosystems and their resources; as well as to improve, update, and develop professional competencies for the management of aquatic resources and to contribute to the sustainable development of productive activities, with an emphasis on fisheries and aquaculture.

Applicant Profile

The Master's program is aimed at a broad audience in Chile and Latin America, from young people seeking to continue their studies, to active professionals and researchers looking for a professional development scheme compatible with maintaining their jobs and professional activities while enrolled in this postgraduate program.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or a professional qualification equivalent to that required for a Bachelor's degree, whether awarded in Chile or abroad. The degree or qualification should preferably be in the field of Marine Sciences. However, applicants from other fields may also be considered based on their interest in or professional experience related to aquatic resource management, in either the public or private sector.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Program in Aquatic Resource Management will be able to integrate the ecosystem and precautionary approach into the sustainable development of productive activities related to fisheries and aquaculture, while also being capable of diagnosing and managing aquatic resources. They will be professionals able to diagnose, evaluate, and forecast the performance of fisheries and aquaculture and their bioeconomic and social impacts under alternative management scenarios.
