General objective
To train specialists in territorial environmental management.
Specific objectives
• To train for the economic, technical and social management of natural environments, subject to action restrictions and territorial environmental planning guidelines.
• To understand, in general terms, the processes of environmentally sustainable production.
• To train for the assessment and correction of environmental impacts in the management of renewable natural resources.
• To train people to use Geomatics in the study, analysis and management of natural resources and their territorial planning.

Applicant Profile

To be admitted to this Master's Program, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or Professional Title, awarded by a Chilean or foreign University, oriented to the disciplines to which the program is directed, preferably forestry engineers, agronomists, civil engineers, and geographers.

Graduate profile

The profile of the graduate of the Master's program in Territorial Environmental Management at the University of Talca will correspond to the following characteristics, competencies and skills:
a) Capacity to make decisions regarding the use, conservation and control of renewable natural resources, in the context of sustainable development.
b) Ability to address specific problems of environmental management and planning
territorial, with a vision that incorporates the multiple interactions between technical, economic, social and environmental factors.
c) Ability to identify, evaluate and quantify the effects of intervention on natural resources, considering human activity and natural processes.
d) Handling of practical applications and methodologies for the resolution and correction of
problems of environmental management and land use planning.
e) Mastery of computer techniques and technologies for prospecting, characterization and analysis of environmental and physical variables.
f) Ability to collect spatial and thematic information, and to analyze and manage it in digital databases.
