Lines of investigation

LATIN AMERICAN LITERATURE On the one hand, the curriculum is developed from a diachronic axis that addresses Latin American literature from the Colonial period to the present, with a focus on contemporary debates on the interpretation of literary texts and their relationship with other forms of cultural production in the Latin American context.
CULTURAL STUDIES The curriculum delves into the theoretical and methodological approaches of cultural studies, from an interdisciplinary perspective that seeks to integrate the contributions of various Latin American, European, and North American schools of thought. Furthermore, the elective courses offer opportunities to apply this knowledge to the study of specific cases within Latin American literature and culture.
CRITICAL THEORY The curriculum addresses critical theory from its historical evolution to current debates surrounding the social, economic and political processes implicit in the production and reception of culture –from diverse media and historical contexts–, in order to foster critical reflection and promote new research on Latin American literatures and cultures.
