goals
General objective:
– To promote International Studies as a multi- and interdisciplinary object of study, training graduates capable of researching and producing knowledge in this area.
Specific objectives:
– To train graduates who are able to identify and develop research topics in the area of International Studies.
– To provide the conceptual tools so that graduates can enter the research-academic world.
– To promote academic debate in the area of International Studies by encouraging continuous publication in specialized national and international journals, as well as participation in conferences and academic exchanges.
– To strengthen the research lines of the Program, in order to consolidate the Institute of Advanced Studies and the University of Santiago de Chile, as leaders in this area.
Applicant Profile
Students may apply to the program throughout the year for each respective semester, through the web platform designated by the University for this purpose. Those eligible to apply to this program must meet the following requirements:
– To be in possession of a bachelor's degree and/or professional title, whose level and content of studies is equivalent to the Bachelor's degree with at least 8 semesters, which must be legalized before a notary.
– Submit a certified copy of your undergraduate transcript, legalized by a notary public.
– Birth Certificate.
– Demonstrate knowledge of the English language. Certification can be from a university or college where English is the native language, or from the British and/or North American Institute with an intermediate reading level.
– Submit an application for admission.
– Properly supported Curriculum Vitae
– Two letters of recommendation from renowned academics.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in International Studies will be able to:
a) To analyze and interpret international reality and the phenomena of world politics, based on the different theories and paradigms associated with International Studies, with a pluralistic stance in theory and methodology.
b) To prepare and develop academic research projects, independently or collaboratively, that require an inter- or multidisciplinary approach in the area of International Studies.
c) To produce knowledge in the area of International Studies, rigorously applying the research methods of the Social Sciences and Humanities.
d) Communicate the results of the research carried out through specialized and mass media, safeguarding the ethical criteria of the Academy.
