goals
To establish and develop an interdisciplinary postgraduate training program that integrates theories, methodologies and practices to influence the development of innovative intervention capacities in the field of childhood, contributing to public deliberation on problems affecting children, as well as to the design of their solution strategies from an intersectoral perspective.
Applicant Profile
1.- To hold a professional title or a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher degree, in level and orientation, with a minimum duration
of 8 semesters, from the University of Chile or other national or foreign universities, that ensures equivalent training for the purposes of the program, which must be determined by the Academic Committee.
2.- Demonstrate prior training in accordance with the aims and requirements of the Program.
Graduate profile
The Graduate Profile of the Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Childhood Studies stipulates that at the end of the Program, students will acquire the following competencies:
1.- Development and mastery of contemporary approaches and methodologies to analyze, understand and address different problems in the field of childhood in an interdisciplinary manner.
2.- Skills and abilities to understand the contexts in which the daily life of children and young people is situated: family, school, community and institutional contexts with the purpose of integrating and applying the rights approach and the paradigm of comprehensive protection.
3.- Ability to develop intersectoral and innovative strategies and proposals for change aimed at transforming the conditions of children in diverse social, cultural and subjective contexts.
4.- Ability to produce applied interdisciplinary knowledge that allows him/her to influence the design, implementation, management, evaluation, systematization and improvement of interventions and public policies aimed at children.
Lines of investigation
1.- Institutional practices and discourses on childhood in Chile and Latin America
2.- Mental health, subjective distress and reparation processes in contexts of violence and violation of rights
3. Innovation in public policies, citizenship and promotion of children's rights.
