goals
General objective:
To contribute to the training of professionals in the field of social scientific research with emphasis on the understanding of intercultural relations in their different expressions and manifestations, including their intersectional character.
Specific objectives:
1. To generate knowledge that allows the understanding of sociocultural processes linked to diversity within a globalized context and the emergence of new dogmas.
2. To promote an intercultural ethic based on recognition and dialogue among the diverse agents that make up societies and cultures.
Applicant Profile
The Master's Program in Intercultural Studies is designed for those holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a Chilean or foreign university in the social sciences and humanities who wish to specialize in the field of intercultural studies.
The lines of research that students can subscribe to are: intercultural philosophy, history and memory of indigenous peoples, linguistic diversity and mediation, migration processes and gender studies.
Graduate profile
The graduation profile includes the development and evidence of the following competencies or performances:
1. Investigate intercultural relations, their practices and discourses, critically analyzing diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives from the social sciences and humanities, to contribute to
the disciplinary and multidisciplinary discussion.
2. Communicate the approaches and results of the research carried out in the field of their specialty, at the level of research projects, scientific articles and presentations at conferences.
3. Propose actions, from an ethical perspective, based on Christian humanism, that promote dialogue processes and intercultural coexistence, especially in the southern macro-region.
