The Master's Program in Contemporary Didactics of Visual Arts closely examines current trends in art education and its various models of artistic-pedagogical work. Within this framework, contemporary creation is addressed in its broad range of trends, topics, and conceptions of artistic thought, as evidenced in the current educational landscape. Didactic proposals of different kinds, relevant theoretical frameworks, and emerging issues in the visual arts are considered. The program promotes a contextualized and in-depth understanding of the research into different didactic trends linked to artistic production, connected to their socio-cultural and historical contexts.

Applicant Profile

A professional degree (eight semesters) or a Bachelor's degree issued by a national or foreign higher education institution. Foreign professional degrees or Bachelor's degrees must be apostilled at the corresponding embassy or consulate. If these certificates are in another language, they must be translated into Spanish.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the professional Master's Program in Contemporary Didactics of the Visual Arts develop reflective and research skills in and about artistic and visual education practices, fostering the innovative use of ICTs. They also develop skills for clearly communicating the results of their research processes. Furthermore, they consider the construction of knowledge through visual artistic practice, understanding the production of artwork as a process of reflection and learning that enhances aesthetic and creative experiences in educational settings. The socio-critical approach declared by the program is consolidated in graduates who reflect from local and global contexts, incorporating memory into the articulation of their own perspective on contemporary space. Graduates of this program will be able to work primarily in public and private entities, in formal and informal educational spaces, linked to the field of culture and the arts.

Lines of investigation

1. Visual Arts Didactic Approaches: This considers current trends in educational approaches related to visual production, artwork analysis, and cultural mediation in artistic spaces. It critically analyzes artistic pedagogical models through visual arts didactics in diverse cultural contexts, both local and global. It generates innovative proposals for knowledge construction from a socio-critical perspective, considering different viewpoints that recover historical memory for social justice. 2. Visual Arts Educational Research: This promotes research into the processes of visual arts production and education as a way to advance in the
development of educational-artistic knowledge, being able to communicate their findings and reflections in a well-founded way, as a means of encounter and reflection between subjectivities, which allows establishing a dialogue between different contexts
