Applicant Profile
The Master's Degree in Didactics of Experimental Sciences is aimed at:
– Secondary School Science Teachers of any scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) awarded by accredited Higher Education Institutions.
– Primary School Teachers with a specialization in Natural Sciences awarded by accredited Higher Education Institutions.
– Professionals with a Bachelor's degree related to experimental sciences (Biology, Chemistry or Physics), who are teaching and/or involved in the field of science education, such as advisors, consultants, publishers, etc.
Graduate profile
The Master's Program in Didactics of Experimental Sciences at Alberto Hurtado University will ensure that students who have graduated from its programs have developed the following competencies:
– Applies knowledge of the didactics of experimental sciences, recognizing the approaches that guide the teaching and learning of their specialty, in order to design, implement and evaluate didactic proposals.
– Integrates knowledge of the discipline being taught with an adequate understanding of the nature of science, recognizing aspects of its history and epistemology, with the purpose of promoting the teaching of a new vision of scientific work.
– Bases his reflections on his pedagogical practice by participating in collaborative work spaces that allow, through didactic research, the improvement of teaching practice and scientific education.
– Design didactic proposals, considering current approaches and specific teaching methods, to promote the training of scientifically literate citizens and the development of 21st century skills, within the framework of education for sustainable development.
