To establish the existing relationship of Mathematics, in its condition as a basic exact science, with the Didactics of Mathematics, which arises to answer all the problems related to the processes involved in learning, teaching and the genesis of thought in the constructive perspective of said knowledge.

Applicant Profile

The admission requirements for applicants to the Master's Program in Mathematics Didactics are as follows: a) Graduates with a teaching degree and/or a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, at any of the three levels of the education system. b) Graduates of mathematics and computer science education programs from the Catholic University of Maule who are interested in entering a continuing education program. c) Special cases: Recent graduates who are not currently teaching but hold a teaching degree or a Bachelor's degree in mathematics or education will be admitted. Physics teachers, special education teachers, or those with related training may also be admitted to the program; their qualifications will be evaluated by the [unclear - possibly "the program committee"].

Graduate profile

The graduate with a Master's degree in Mathematics Education will possess:

A solid foundation in the fundamental content of mathematics as a scientific discipline.
Interdisciplinary knowledge and dialogue, with other areas of knowledge, with people and their development.
Ability to resolve different situations in a timely manner, work in a team, lead study groups, reflection groups and pedagogical planning groups aimed at the training of students, produce didactic situations, develop teaching material, propose, design and develop pedagogical projects.
Solid values-based education, reflecting the mission of our University, which allows for the constant pursuit of personal development, recognizing both potential and limitations.
