Lines of investigation

MDM development lines
Design and innovation in the classroom
This line of research focuses on the design and implementation of innovative school mathematics tasks that address students' difficulties in learning mathematics. It is developed through innovation, the use of technology, and mathematical modeling as elements that promote students' acquisition of knowledge and skills.

Fundamentals of school mathematics
This approach focuses on strengthening mathematical knowledge and developing teachers' autonomy to improve their teaching. It is based on the study and understanding of the mathematical content they teach in the classroom, considering both the current presentation of this content in national curricula and its historical and epistemological development.

Teacher professional development
This line of research focuses on inquiry and reflection in and on teaching practice, contributing to the development of the mathematical, didactic, and pedagogical dimensions of teachers' knowledge in order to transform their professional work. It is developed through the study of classroom problems addressed by the design, implementation, and reflection on teaching proposals in collaborative settings.
